Bread Making

Tried Alex Goh "Magic Bread" recipe for Basic Sweet Bread Dough. I didn't do a great job for this though the bread was edible. I would need to give it another try again, putting the right sequence using my BM.

Anyway this is the Cheese Bun that we did on Princess birthday.

Original Recipe from Alex Goh - Magic Bread

Ingredients
A
100g bread flour
70g boiling water

B
300g bread flour
100g plain flour
80g sugar
6g salt
20g milk powder
9g instant yeast

C
175g cold water
60g cold eggs

D
60g butter

Method
  1. Add the boiling water from A into flour, mix until well blended to form dough. Cover and set aside to cool. Keep it into regrigerator for at least 12 hours
  2. Mix B until well-blended. Add in C and knead to form rough dough. Add in A and knead until well-blended.
  3. Add in D and knead to form elastic dough.
  4. Let it proof for 40 mins
  5. Divide the dough into required weight and mould it round. Let it rest for 10 mins and ready to use.

冬至 - 12 月22 日

From young we were taught 冬大过年 and also a saying of 冬湿年干= if it rain in Winter, Chinese New Year will be dry. It's a must to eat 湯圓, so that we'll grow a year older (just a chinese saying). My family favourite is Gula Melaka flavor 湯圓, it's also my witness.

Important to note, 冬至 is always falls on 22 Dec yearly. Which also 3 days before our Christmas Day 25 Dec, amazing huh ...

My mama and the little helpers with the DIY 湯圓 making.

好温心的一刻, a great bonding time

2009 Office X'mas Party - 15 Dec 09

We had an early x'mas party at the office after work hours, there were plenty of foods. I only took a picture or 2 and even forgotten to snap a picture of my doll up (beautify) brownie i made :( Even forgotten to snap our yearly star dish .... Kirk's MIL home cooked specialty "Turkey". It's really super nice and the best we had ever try. So tender, juicy and unforgettable taste --- Yum Yum. Never had we tried anything so good like this before. Mann.... i'm really getting old or perhaps the food was so good that i was drown into it .... Just attack the food, photo taking never mind ... hahahha

Here's the only picture of a small portion of the food displayFor the last part of the party - gift exchange. I've put up Alex Goh latest book "Magic Bread"as my wishing list this year. Thanks Yen Yen for the book and the greeting card.
